Vodafone UK certified as Level 3 Disability Confident Leader

As people across the globe recognise Neurodiversity Celebration Week between March 17-23, Vodafone UK is proud to announce it has earned its Disability Confident Level 3 accreditation.

The Government’s Disability Confident scheme encourages businesses to think differently about disability when shaping recruitment, retainment and development processes.

Having held Level 2 status since 2022, this latest achievement is testament to Vodafone’s Disability & Accessibility agenda, which empowers employees to bring their true selves to work every day.

In doing so, the company aims to create a culture that supports its disabled employees through: improved mental health and wellbeing; increased accessibility; and equal opportunities to progress.

How Vodafone supports those with disabilities

December 3rd marks International Day of Persons with Disabilities – a day to promote the rights and wellbeing of those with a disability.

The award confirms that Vodafone has been assessed by an external accreditor – the Business Disability Forum – with a range of evidence having been reviewed. Some of the policies evaluated include:

  • A partnership with Vercida on an inclusive job board to support increased Vodafone brand presence among the disabled community.
  • A new approach to interview practices, which sees some questions shared ahead of time to ensure neurodiverse applicants can prepare equally.
  • A comprehensive careers site that highlights supportive partnerships, reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process, and equal representation.
  • A large proportion of roles that are hybrid, which aims to open the talent pool to candidates that may require some level of flexibility.
  • A tiered disability allyship scheme, awarded to employees that have completed training courses created by Vodafone’s diversity and inclusion leads.

“Achieving the Disability Confident Level 3 award is a significant milestone in Vodafone's commitment to supporting the disabled community. It paves the way for further accessibility and inclusivity within our organisation. The VodABILITY Network is proud to have supported D&I's efforts in making this achievement possible”

Ryan Sin Maloney and Michele Mead, Co-Chairs of the VodABILITY Network

Vodafone has used the Disability Confident Level 3 criteria to build out its 2025/26 disability strategy, with a view to further strengthening its leader status.

The next ambition as an employer is not just to meet this minimum Level 3 criteria, but to implement the full framework where possible, leading the way for disability inclusion and supporting other businesses in becoming Disability Confident.

This work will be led in part by the VodABILITY employee network – a group of Vodafone employees that support all types of disabilities across the business, raising awareness of the policies already in place and identifying new initiatives that may help break down further barriers.
